Hobbies

Among some of my hobbies are soccer, running, cooking, and playing the guitar. 

1. Yes, I am a Real Madrid fan

2. I started enjoying cooking when I studied abroad for couple of months in Switzerland. I think this was due to the fact everything was so expensive hehehe. 

3. Among my favorite bands are John Mark McMillan, Jonathan David and Melissa Helser, and NEEDTOBREATHE. 

4. I am not very good at classical guitar. I'm more of a "by ear" guitarist. Among other instruments, I really enjoy playing the bass. I am also learning to play the piano, and kind of took a 1 semester violin lessons. 

Teaching + Research

I want to become a renowned math teacher plus an excellent researcher. My desire is for students to dream big. I want them to be joyful in their jobs, to take delight in their endeavours, and to live with purpose. I believe mathematics is a door where this can happen. It is common to hear that mathematics is very hard, or among the least liked subjects in school. However, this could be due to inadequate teaching, or lack of knowledge about the material. Hence, the history of mathematics can also be changed through teaching. I have been surrounded with academia for the most part of my life. Thus, I am a firm believer that education is a door where students can start pursuing great things, actually enjoying going to class, and regain hope in the things to come.
